Annual Reporting: Household Hazardous Waste Collection Information |
The Board requires each jurisdiction in California to annually report the amount of household hazardous waste (HHW) collected through locally administered programs. Local jurisdictions must use the CIWMB 303a or 303b to meet this requirement. Additionally, these forms are specifically intended to fulfill the reporting requirements of the HHW element of the countywide integrated waste management plans. Each jurisdiction must complete a form CIWMB 303a or 303b for each fiscal year, covering the period from July 1 through June 30. For the reporting fiscal year commencing July 1, 2007, and ending June 30, 2008, the completed form, either CIWMB 303a or 303b, shall be submitted electronically to the Department of Toxic Substance Control (DTSC) on or before October 1, 2008, as an e-mail attachment to form303@dtsc.ca.gov. The links below and their descriptions establish the criteria for determining which form to use depending on the nature of HHW collection in each jurisdiction.
Non-lead agencies that have collected universal wastes (u-waste) such as electronic waste, batteries, or fluorescent lamps, or that have data on community/private battery and/or lamp collection activities, should include that collection data when completing form CIWMB 303b, provided this data will not be reported by another agency (i.e., their jurisdiction's lead agency). Voluntary Survey. Both lead and non-lead agencies are encouraged to complete the voluntary survey below. This survey will help Board staff compile HHW program cost information and other information of program interest.
If you have any questions on completing the form or survey, please contact Betsy Vail of DTSC. |
